Compensation: Hourly wage commensurate with experience. While prior experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right individual who possesses a genuine desire to work with older adults.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
WELLNESS:
1. Support the Wellness Director in managing the intake of new medication cycles bi-weekly.
2. Ensure Med Carts (PRN's, Creams) are maintained every two weeks.
3. Conduct daily reviews of the Medication reorder sheet.
4. Order Oxygen and related supplies as needed.
5. Perform weekly audits of Medication Administration Records (MAR) to check for missing initials and signatures, and communicate findings to the Wellness Director.
6. Implement medication changes for residents following physician appointments, including:
a) Faxing orders to the pharmacy.
b) Providing a copy of the order to the Wellness Director.
c) Updating the MAR upon delivery of new orders.
7. Ensure residents have copies of their MAR and Medical Appointment forms when attending doctor visits.
ADMINISTRATIVE:
1. Assist at the Front Desk by welcoming guests, residents, vendors, and deliveries.
2. Answer phone calls as needed.
3. Conduct orientation sessions for new hires.
4. Maintain records of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and schedule monthly CEU classes.
5. Track CPR and First Aid certifications.
6. Assist the Executive Director with auditing employee files.
7. Manage care staff scheduling and handle shift changes.
8. Replenish copies of necessary forms (Shower/Laundry/Pager Logs).
9. Be available for on-call duties one weekend per month.
10. Assist with facility tours as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be at least 18 years of age.
2. High School Diploma is required.
3. A satisfactory criminal record check is mandatory.
4. A physical examination by a licensed physician is required.
5. A negative drug screening is necessary.
6. CPR and First Aid certification is required.
7. Professional attire is expected.
8. Effective communication skills are essential for conveying information to residents, families, supervisors, the Wellness Director, and the Executive Director.
9. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks involving walking, standing, reaching, pushing, and grasping.
10. Understanding of the risks associated with exposure to infectious waste, diseases, chemicals, solutions, and disinfectants.
11. Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
