Radar Systems Engineer Job Description

TSC is seeking a skilled Radar Systems Engineer to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. This position supports the Radar and Precision Weapons Development.

The successful candidate will take the lead technical role in managing programs that may include technologies in the following areas:

  • Miniature airborne sensors
  • Tactical data links
  • Large antenna systems
  • Small X and Ku Band AESA systems

Through successful program execution, the candidate will position TSC to be the preferred partner for new programs with our current customers.

This position carries ultimate responsibility for orchestrating all technical activities and may include all phases from opportunity identification through development and hand-off to the program production team.

The candidate will take ownership to develop and grow relationships with government program offices, as well as public sector customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create radar system architectures based on customer requirements
  • Analyze and derive radar system requirements based on concepts of operation and tactical environments
  • Track new and upcoming technologies and how they can be utilized to create better performance or lower cost technical solutions
  • Create technical presentations and white papers in support of internal hardware development activities
  • Technical lead of a team of engineers and software developers to design, fabricate, and test all hardware and software components required to realize the full sensor or radar system
  • Support hardware demonstrations, technical discussions, and deliver periodic technical briefs
  • Technical oversight of program objectives and deliverables
Required Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Engineering with 10+ years of experience in the defense industry involving military hardware development activities
  • Self-motivated and free-thinking individual capable of independent technical discussion, technical leadership, and significant customer interaction
  • Proven history of successfully managing hardware deliverable programs and interfacing with all levels within the customer organization
  • Ability to use computer algebra software such as Mathcad, MATLAB, Python, or Maple
  • Strong technical background with experience in one (or more) of the following areas:
    • Military System Development and Delivery
    • Radar & Communications Digital Signal Processing Systems
    • Military Hardware Production & Quality Control
    • Radar & Communication System/Subsystem Design, Analysis, Integration and/or Field Testing
    • Military Electronics System Manufacturing & Integration
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI DoD Clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Engineering
  • Experience with RF, Radar, or Rocket/Missile systems/subsystems
