The primary purpose of this position is to assist customers with their healthcare needs by filling prescriptions and providing excellent customer service while supervising Pharmacy associates. This role requires frequent independent judgments and adherence to corporate policies and state and federal laws.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the accuracy and appropriateness of all prescriptions filled by completing Drug Utilization Review and Final Quality Assurance, in compliance with state and federal Board of Pharmacy regulations.
- Build profitable business and script growth through recommended clinical programs, including immunization and Medication Therapy Management (MTM), Diabetes Care Specialist (DCS), and other identified programs.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with medical-related issues and offering healthcare counseling.
- Supervise the work completed by Pharmacy Technicians and support staff while on duty.
- Assist the Pharmacy Manager in training, coaching, and managing Pharmacy associates.
- Maintain the security of the Pharmacy department and comply with all federal and state laws and regulations.
- Handle and resolve customer issues, complaints, and questions to build customer trust and loyalty.
- Interact with physicians and utilize reference materials to gain information on customers and prescriptions and resolve any issues that arise.
- Maintain the Pharmacy department by keeping it clean and organized, prioritizing tasks, and ensuring timely completion of duties, including cycle counts, inventory management, and will-calls to customers.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree (BS) or Doctoral degree (PHARM.D.) in Pharmacy, as well as Immunization Certification through an accredited organization. A Pharmacist License in the state of original licensure, with reciprocity in states of application, is also required.
