About the Role

As a Medical Equipment Specialist in our laboratory setting, you will play a critical part in ensuring the optimal performance of low-end and high-end clinical laboratory equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Service (40%):
    • Perform regular inspections and maintenance on laboratory equipment to guarantee its accuracy and reliability.
    • Repair, install, and calibrate equipment as needed, working closely with medical and clinical staff to ensure seamless operations.
    • Maintain accurate records of equipment status, repairs, and maintenance activities.
    • Collaborate with vendors and service technicians to resolve complex issues and optimize equipment performance.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques through ongoing training and education.
  • Regulatory Compliance (25%):
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, such as CAP, CLIA, and COLA, by maintaining accurate records and adhering to established protocols.
    • Assist laboratory teams in preparing for accreditation inspections, providing expert guidance and support.
    • Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) and other applicable policies and procedures.
  • Account Relationship Management (25%):
    • Foster strong relationships with laboratory clients, understanding their needs and preferences to deliver exceptional service.
    • Communicate effectively with laboratory technicians and management regarding equipment status, functionality, and maintenance schedules.
    • Make recommendations to laboratory leadership on service strategies and capital equipment purchases, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Inventory Management (10%):
    • Conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure accurate records and minimal discrepancies.
    • Verify security analysis for new customer equipment and perform Incoming Inspections (II) to maintain an up-to-date inventory.
