This role is situated within the Weight Control Center, where the RN will collaborate with both the surgical team and the multidisciplinary team dedicated to Bariatric & General Surgery. This position operates on a day shift schedule, with no weekend commitments.

Responsibilities

The clinical nurse, adhering to the ANA scope of practice, employs the nursing process framework to deliver professional nursing care, integrating patient-family centered care principles. The Clinical Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care under the guidance of Nursing and Operational Leadership, in accordance with established policies and procedures within an outpatient environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Nursing is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required within five years of hire.
  • Candidates from non-accredited nursing programs must possess at least one year of acute care experience or two years in a licensed healthcare role, along with successful completion of the NCLEX licensure examination.
  • Current Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within six months of hire.
  • Specialty certification is highly recommended within two years.
  • One year of experience as an RN in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is preferred.

Work Environment

This position is full-time, operating during the day shift, Monday through Friday, with a total of 40 scheduled hours per week.
