Job Summary

MasTec Professional Services is seeking a skilled CAD Drafter to join our team. As a CAD Drafter, you will work on power distribution projects, responsible for project design, field survey, and QA/QC. You will collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and Designers to deliver cost-effective and high-quality infrastructure solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Review engineering design packages, including drawings, BOM, and procedures, with the Project Manager.
  • Perform basic to intermediate engineering designs.
  • Conduct surveys and document existing utility field conditions, using GPS and conventional survey methods.
  • Contribute to and implement design modifications to improve project quality and process improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree or equivalent related experience with design.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD, with at least 1+ year of work experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, around energized equipment, in confined spaces, and in heavy traffic and construction environments.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record for the past 5 years.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Power distribution knowledge.
  • Civil 3D experience.
  • Familiarity with electrical standards, including National Electric Code (NEC) and National Electric Safety Code (NESC).
  • Knowledge of Katapult or Ike equipment.
  • Knowledge of distribution equipment and hardware to identify components from visual inspections and properly document.
  • Experience reading and comprehending construction plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
