Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Technician to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm, security, and access control systems at customer sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electronic fire alarm systems and other related building system products
  • Service and troubleshoot various manufacturers' Fire & Life Safety systems, including SimplexGrinnell
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software, and operational product manuals
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating with district staff and customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices
  • Participate in a scheduled On-call rotation and help train or mentor others on the service team
  • Organize and utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to assure efficient execution of tasks
  • Program fire alarm, security, and access control system panels
  • Experience with CCTV and IT and IP networks is a plus
Requirements
  • 3+ years' experience with fire alarm, access control, security intrusion, sound, and communications systems
  • A good working knowledge of computers is necessary
  • Able to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and overnight travel may be required
  • Maintain truck inventory to ensure timely response to customer needs
  • Retain any licenses required by National, State, and Local codes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Technical training preferred
