Senior Archeologist Job Summary

Sapphos Environmental, Inc. is a leading environmental planning and resource management company based in Pasadena, California. We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Archeologist to join our cultural resources team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead fieldwork, including survey, testing, data recovery, and monitoring, as well as archival research and technical report writing.
  • Prepare environmental reports and gather data to support project implementation.
  • Work independently and under the supervision of senior staff to achieve project goals.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and scopes, and provide technical advice to clients.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, History, or a related field.
  • 4 years of relevant experience in historic and/or prehistoric archaeology and cultural resources management.
  • Registration with the Registering for Professional Archaeologists (RPA) is required.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Southern California.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with California cultural resources management and federal and state cultural resources statutes.
  • Operational knowledge of the prehistory and history of California and the Southwest.
