Currently, we are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Application Developer. This role requires the candidate to be within a reasonable commuting distance for on-site work as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and developing applications utilizing traditional SQL-based database management systems (Postgres).
- Conducting unit testing and developing automated tests using tools such as Selenium, Protractor, SoapUI, and Postman.
- Performing debugging, troubleshooting, and optimizing performance.
- Utilizing HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and associated frameworks (Dojo, JQuery, Node).
- Creating reusable Java libraries.
- Employing relational databases (Oracle or PostgreSQL).
- Writing code in Linux environments.
- Ensuring compliance with security controls mandated by federal information systems.
- Collaborating with tools like GIT, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, CentOS Linux, and Python.
- Participating in development using Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Applying knowledge of SAFe methodologies.
- Understanding and leveraging common software architectural styles and patterns.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience working with Java in an enterprise environment.
- Experience in requirement analysis, software design, development, integration, bug fixing, and testing.
- Proficiency in Java (Spring-boot), Node, JavaScript, and Angular.
- Expertise in RESTful API design and development.
- Familiarity with Java and scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript.
- Experience in developing test cases and automated testing with tools like SoapUI, LoadUI, Selenium, and Groovy.
- Knowledge of developing applications using traditional SQL-based database management systems (Postgres).
- Skills in debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare and deliver presentations and artifacts to management.
- Experience in developing RESTful microservice architectures for web and application services.
- Proficiency in development with Spring, Spring Boot, or Hibernate.
- Experience with NoSQL data management systems and full-text searching.
- Ability to automate application deployments.
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Support for development using Agile Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, along with 2 or more years of directly related experience.
- Experience with AWS technologies.
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services GovCloud, Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, etc.), CloudFormation, and Data Analytics Tools (PowerBI, Quicksight, Jasper).
- Team-oriented individual willing to collaborate with Senior Software Engineers.
- Experience in Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Knowledge of SAFe methodologies.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Applicants must possess an active Top Secret clearance.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
- Occasional movement within the office to access file cabinets and office machinery.
- Frequent operation of a computer and other office productivity equipment.
- Regular communication with co-workers, management, and customers, including delivering presentations.
- May require moving audio/visual or computer equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
The projected compensation range for this position is $84,300-$140,000, with various factors influencing the final salary, including relevant experience, skills, geographic location, education, and certifications.
