The Good Samaritan Society is seeking a compassionate and adaptable Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team as a Travel LPN in the Red Oak, IA area. This opportunity allows an LPN to travel locally by working in various GSS locations within a 150-mile radius from home address providing care with competitive pay, mileage reimbursement, flexibility, and no contract requirement.

About the Role

This role involves delivering quality patient care while demonstrating knowledge of nursing principles for residents in the relevant clinical setting. You will be required to possess the ability to perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provide the care needed.

You will work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team, communicate clearly, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Additionally, you will counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care in accordance with established standards and protocols.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of residents to identify their physical and psychosocial needs.
  • Administer medications or treatments as ordered and document resident interactions and outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary information.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with residents, healthcare professionals, and the public.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must be a graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred. You must also hold an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges.
