Off-Road Dump Truck Driver Job Description

Gator Dredging is seeking an experienced Off-Road Dump Truck Operator to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to transport and stockpile materials on our job sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate Off-Road trucks to transport and/or stockpile sand, dirt, aggregate, and other materials and/or equipment to various locations on the job site.
  • Maintain the machine you drive, checking oil and water, performing safety evaluations, and following directions to haul and dump loads accordingly.
  • Perform manual labor and other related duties as necessary on the job site.
  • Work outdoors in potentially wet and dusty conditions.
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Help identify hazardous conditions on the job site.
  • Maintain a daily truck log and other important paperwork.
  • Clean trucks as scheduled and/or required.
  • Use hand-held mobile radio units to coordinate tasks and resources.
  • Report any damage immediately to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience operating an Off-Road Dump Truck.
  • Enjoy working as part of a team.
  • MUST be motivated and able to work independently.
  • Experience operating an excavator and other construction equipment a plus.
  • Previous dredging experience a plus.
  • A valid driver's license must be maintained throughout employment.
  • OSHA Certification a plus.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
  • Physical/Sensory Functions: Regularly will use sit, use hands, talk/hear; Frequently will reach with hands, may need to work with hand underwater without seeing; Occasionally will stand, walk, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, taste/smell.
  • Lift and/or Move Functions: Regularly will lift up to 10 pounds; Frequently will lift up to 25 pounds; Occasionally will lift up to 50 pounds.
