Position: Precision Equipment Assembler
Location: Walker, MI
Shift: 1st shift
Compensation: $23-$27/hour
The Precision Equipment Assembler is responsible for constructing and assembling high-quality automation machinery tailored for various industries. This role involves interpreting and executing detailed designs and blueprints after receiving customer approval. The assembler will utilize various measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers, to fabricate components necessary for building robust conveyors, lifts, stackers, and turntables. Continuous collaboration with the Lead Assembler, fellow assemblers, mechanical design engineers, and other workshop personnel is essential. Occasional travel may be required to install equipment at client locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret and analyze technical drawings and blueprints.
- Develop a systematic approach for assembling intricate components.
- Manage timelines and expectations across several projects.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical challenges.
- Maintain open communication with team members and supervisors regarding project status.
- Allocate work hours based on specific job requirements.
- Prioritize tasks effectively and delegate when necessary.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Keep the workspace organized and tidy.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing blueprints.
- Organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective time management to ensure task completion.
- Analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of standard workshop tools and their operation.
- Familiarity with CNC machinery, welding, and AutoCAD is advantageous.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently.
- Commitment to following safety protocols and company policies.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum one year of experience in a metal fabrication environment preferred.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Physical agility to maneuver around equipment.
- Capability to lift materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
