Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Memory Care Program: Assist in providing a holistic, therapeutic, person-centered approach to care for residents with dementia.
  • Commit to Ongoing Education: Participate in at least 12 hours of continuing education annually to enhance knowledge and skills in dementia care.
  • Develop Resident-Centered Care Plans: Become knowledgeable about each resident's background, life history, disease, medical and behavioral care needs, and preferences.
  • Provide Therapeutic Activities: Assist in planning and implementing a therapeutic activity program that enhances the quality of life for each resident.
  • Encourage Family Involvement: Support family involvement through volunteering and visitation.
  • Maintain a Safe Environment: Ensure a clean, safe, and non-hazardous unit for residents and staff.
  • Document Resident Care: Complete all required documentation to ensure accurate and timely care.
  • Collaborate with the Team: Provide feedback to the Memory Care Director to monitor achievement of facility and program goals.
  • Be Flexible and Adaptable: Be prepared to adapt to changing resident needs and priorities.
  • Provide Emotional Support: Offer emotional, caring support to residents, families, and the inter-disciplinary team.
Requirements
  • Current certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development
