UnityPoint Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Surgical Technologist II to join our Operating Room team. As a key member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment, ensuring that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that all procedures are conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety and comfort.
- Participate in the circulation of instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures, anticipating the needs of the surgeon and other team members.
- Assist in the orientation of new departmental personnel and participate in the clinical instruction of students as assigned in the operating room.
- Strive to enhance personal technical and clinical competence in all job-related duties, staying up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices in the field.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from a nationally accredited surgical technology program preferred.
- Certification through a national certifying body is required; active certification must be maintained throughout employment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and make decisions in a timely and efficient manner.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office products are a plus.
