Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Experience operating POS systems, symbols, and telephones is preferred for Cashier roles.
  • Support for processes and people to achieve operational excellence and sales goals is expected for Cashier roles.
  • 4+ years of personal experience in outdoor activities, particularly fishing and hunting, is preferred for Outdoor Enthusiast roles.
  • CPR and First Responder certification is advantageous for Asset Protection roles.
  • A background in Loss Prevention or Criminal Justice is beneficial for Asset Protection roles.

Skills Required:

  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to connect and engage with customers, fostering relationships through shared interests in sports and outdoor activities; bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Effective problem-solving and communication skills with customers and team members.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operation instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficient in basic math and able to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
  • Experience in using POS systems and training others on their use (Cashier roles).
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence (Cashier roles).
  • Familiarity with inventory management software and order processing systems (Cashier roles).
  • Passionate about outdoor activities such as fishing, hunting, and camping (Outdoor Enthusiast roles).
  • Must meet federal and state requirements for selling firearms (Fishing and Hunting Sales roles).
  • Must meet qualifications for obtaining/maintaining a FOID card (Illinois only) for Fishing and Hunting Sales roles.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools and cleaning equipment.
  • Provide prompt and friendly service to all customers and team members.
  • Knowledge of emergency response procedures.
  • Strong situational awareness and observational skills.

Physical Requirements & Attendance:

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Acceptable hearing and vision levels to perform job duties.
  • Adhere to company policies and professional conduct standards.
  • Frequent walking, reaching, and talking are required.
  • Occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pulling may be necessary.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 60 pounds occasionally.
  • Constant standing and repetitive motions with hands and fingers are required.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
