As a vital member of our healthcare team at Warbird Consulting Partners, the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit Registered Nurse plays a crucial role in the recovery of patients following surgical procedures. This position requires a dedicated professional who can provide exceptional care and support during the critical recovery phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement the nursing process to assess patient needs for ongoing evaluation in the PACU.
- Maintain accurate documentation and assess the effectiveness of nursing interventions while ensuring a secure care environment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote seamless patient care.
- Deliver post-operative education to patients, ensuring a sterile and safe recovery environment while monitoring their physical and emotional health throughout the surgical recovery process.
- Observe patients for any changes in condition, particularly signs of respiratory distress, and initiate appropriate interventions as necessary.
QualificationsEssential Education and Experience:
- Completion of an accredited registered nursing program.
- A minimum of 2 years of recent experience in ICU, Critical Care, or PACU settings.
- Possession of a valid California RN state license.
- Current BLS Certification.
- ACLS certification to be obtained within 6 months of employment or transfer into the role.
- PALS certification to be acquired within 6 months of employment or transfer into the role.
- Willingness to participate in On-Call duties during weekdays and availability for some weekends and holidays.
