Your role and responsibilities

Location: Columbus Manufacturing Plant - Job Grade: Hourly - Maintenance General Information: Pay Range: $ $ based on a progression pay scale) Shift Premium: $.15 for 2nd shift & $.20 for 3rd shift Responsibilities:
• Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic machinery issues.
• Utilize all electrical tools effectively. Interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Comprehensive understanding of electronic principles relevant to industrial machinery and controls, enabling the diagnosis and repair of servo-motors, electronic controls, processors, and similar equipment.
• Must be adept at sourcing information necessary for the repair of new equipment.
• Maintain an organized, tidy, and safe maintenance shop area. Proactively identify and address safety hazards, spills, etc., to mitigate accident risks. Employ safe lifting techniques and operate power equipment responsibly. Adhere to all regulations while performing work, including lockout/tag out procedures. Maintain records to ensure accountability of time, parts, and repairs.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to ensure equipment functionality.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace mechanical components such as motors, reducers, drive chains, sprockets, sheaves, pulleys, rollers, conveyor belts, bearings, and transfer plates.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace pneumatic equipment including diverters, air compressors, lubricators, hoses, and coils.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and/or replace hydraulic equipment such as hoses, fittings, cylinders, and pumps.
• Prioritize safety in the workplace above all else.
• Collaborate closely with machine operators.
• Be available for overtime as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications for the role
  • Education and Experience Needed:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Industrial Maintenance or similar Associate's degree or, in lieu of a degree, 2 years of related experience in maintenance and/or education.
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of industrial electrical applications, pneumatics, hydraulics, and control systems.
  • PLC troubleshooting and controls experience/knowledge highly desired.
  • Knowledge of the fundamentals of industrial electrical applications, pneumatics, and control systems is highly desired.
  • Specialized skills or other requirements:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
  • Capability to troubleshoot and repair heavy machinery.
  • Advanced understanding of machine operations and diagnostics.
  • Ability to effectively diagnose machine malfunctions and clearly communicate detailed root causes of issues.
  • Adaptability to new technologies and the ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and deadlines.
  • Willingness to adapt to change and cross-train.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and work well under pressure.
  • Must be willing to participate in additional job-related training.
