Job Summary

The Dietary Aide is a vital member of our food service team, responsible for preparing and serving food to residents, employees, and special events. This role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service: Prepare and/or pre-portion food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu, using proper food handling and safety techniques.
  • Meal Delivery and Service: Ensure that meals and snacks are delivered to designated areas according to established time schedules.
  • Food Safety and Handling: Maintain the proper temperature of food during preparation and service, and record temperatures of food.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Wash dishes, etc. according to established procedures for manual and/or automatic dishwashing, and keep work areas clean and uncluttered.
  • Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, storing, and verifying invoices for incoming food, supplies, etc.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain equipment in a clean and safe operating condition, and report any equipment problems to the supervisor.
Requirements
  • Education: Tenth grade or above desirable.
  • Licenses/Certification: ServSafe Food Safety Certification preferred, or other food safety certification as required in state or county of facility.
  • Experience: Experience in food service desired.
