About the Role

VNS Health is seeking a skilled Behavioral Health RN to join our team. As a Behavioral Health RN, you will provide holistic nursing care to patients with psychiatric symptoms, cognitive and/or behavioral challenges.

You will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team members to achieve successful patient outcomes. Your expertise will be essential in conducting psychosocial assessments, developing treatment recommendations, and providing advocacy, psychoeducation, and cognitive/behavioral interventions.

Responsibilities
  • Practice in the home and community to provide behavioral health treatment.
  • Conduct psychosocial assessments and living conditions of patients and social determinants of health and develop treatment recommendations.
  • Provide advocacy, psychoeducation, cognitive/behavioral interventions, monitoring of mental status, emotional support, brief psychotherapy, and/or family-based interventions.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to achieve successful patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State, required.
  • NYS non-Driver photo ID card may be required.
  • Bachelor's or Associates degree in nursing required, master's degree in psychiatric nursing, preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of recent inpatient, outpatient or home care psychiatric experience.
  • Valid driver's license or Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skill.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
