We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our UI engineering team in creating seamless and efficient user experiences for our Mainframe Division. Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a talented engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning. Ensure high standards of UI quality and adherence to industry standards, security processes, and privacy requirements.
- Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with UX designers, product managers, and engineering teams to align engineering efforts with business objectives and product requirements.
- Strategic Vision: Define and execute a strategic roadmap for engineering activities, balancing technical vision with business goals. Provide thought leadership on evolving digital procurement tools and support design evolution.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, particularly senior leadership, to keep them informed about project status, risks, and opportunities. Translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Quality and Standards: Ensure exceptional UI quality, utilizing in-house component libraries. Oversee UI development and testing strategies, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Team Building: Recruit, hire, and develop a diverse, high-performing engineering team. Champion an inclusive and innovative team culture.
Requirements
- Over 12 years in software engineering with substantial experience in front-end and full-stack development.
- At least 3 years of leadership experience managing high-performing teams in consumer-facing applications.
- Strong understanding of UI development and testing strategies, UX and UI design principles.
- Proven ability to act as a credible technical advisor and make informed decisions in ambiguous situations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for conveying complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with a track record of effective decision-making and team guidance in challenging scenarios.
- Demonstrated success in hiring and growing a diverse team of engineers to maximize their impact.
