Exercise Instructor Opportunity

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a motivated and experienced Exercise Instructor to lead group fitness classes and promote healthy living in our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver engaging and safe group exercise classes that cater to diverse fitness levels.
  • Develop and implement fitness programs that improve flexibility, strength, muscular endurance, and cardio-respiratory conditioning.
  • Build strong relationships with members and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Maintain a clean and organized exercise environment.
  • Assist in tracking program statistics and evaluating program effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • At least one year of experience leading group exercise classes.
  • Knowledge of the four components of fitness and ability to design classes that improve one or more of these components.
  • Group Exercise certification or related specialty (preferred).
  • YMCA Foundations of Strength and Conditioning and/or Foundations of Group Exercise certification or equivalent (preferred).
  • Positive attitude and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Commitment to valuing and promoting diversity and contributing to an inclusive work environment.
  • CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, AED, and Oxygen certifications (preferred).
