The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a skilled Nursing Assistant to join our team. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to our veteran patients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a range of patient care and support services, including personal patient care, support for diagnostic procedures, and technical nursing treatments.
- Assist physicians and nurses in the performance of diagnostic examinations and procedures.
- Observe and report changes in patient behavior, attitude, bodily complaints, and appearance to the professional nurse.
- Assist with patient education and provide basic patient instruction under the guidance of a Registered Nurse.
- Participate in unit-based medical center and organizational in-services and continuing education activities.
- One year of specialized experience as a Nursing Assistant or experience in another medical field, performing technical and nursing skills requiring knowledge of the human physical and emotional states, therapeutic communication, and technical skills required for basic and intermediate treatments.
- Successful completion of 2 years above high school in an accredited institution with courses related to nursing care, health care, or a field of study appropriate to the specialization of the position.
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) in areas such as patient care, communication, and technical skills.
The Nursing Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment, providing care to patients with a range of physical and behavioral problems. The position requires the ability to work effectively in stressful situations, communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals, and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
