We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Research Associate-He to join our team at the University of Georgia. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research studies involving viral pathogenesis and the development of vaccines, specifically J paramyxovirus (JPV).
Key Responsibilities- Perform independent studies on J paramyxovirus (JPV) and other pathogen infections in multiple animal models.
- Assess safety and/or efficacy of novel drugs and vaccines in animal models.
- Assess immune responses to infection, vaccination, and/or drug treatment in animal models.
- Develop and maintain laboratory standard operating procedures, biosafety protocols, animal use protocols, and other documentation needed for completion of research projects.
- Coordinate laboratory personnel efforts and training of other laboratory personnel.
- Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field.
- Demonstrated consistency and accuracy in tasks that involve critical attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience with record-keeping practices and excellent organizational skills.
The successful candidate will work in a laboratory setting and will be required to wear protective gear, including a facemask, gloves, gown, hairnet, and safety goggles. The position may also require working with small, delicate pieces of equipment or large heavy objects/containers/machinery.
