Shelter Animal Care Provider

Objective:
As a committed and self-driven member of our team, you will deliver exceptional and empathetic care to animals in our shelter. Your role is vital in ensuring that all animals are provided with a secure and hygienic living space, along with access to fresh water and food according to feeding guidelines.
Compensation:
$16/hour
Benefits:
- Accrued Paid Time Off based on hours worked
- Four floating holidays annually

Work Schedule:
Part-time, ranging from 4 to 29 hours per week. Shifts typically last between 4 to 8 hours.
Availability:
Must be available for at least one weekend day each week; full weekend availability is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Animal Care: Conduct daily cleaning and sanitization of animal habitats following established protocols. Prepare and serve food to animals as per guidelines. Monitor animals for any changes in behavior or health and report findings to the appropriate teams.
- Data Management: Ensure accurate data entry into the shelter's computer system.
- Support Tasks: Assist with animal handling for transportation, medical procedures, and other necessary tasks.
- Communication: Actively listen and convey information clearly and professionally. Provide and receive feedback constructively.
- Culture: Promote an inclusive work environment by embodying the values and mission of the organization.
Qualifications:
Schedule: Must demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality, with the ability to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
Experience: Previous experience with animals is preferred.
Technical Skills: Proficient in computer usage, particularly with Microsoft applications.
Adaptability: Ability to maintain professionalism and attention to detail in diverse situations, with a willingness to assist at various locations.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication abilities and a collaborative spirit are essential.
Physical and Emotional Resilience: Must be capable of managing the physical demands of working in a shelter environment, including handling animals with varying medical and behavioral needs. Emotional resilience is necessary to cope with the challenges of animal care, including humane euthanasia.
