Key Responsibilities

We seek dedicated professionals who will embody the principles of the Select Medical Way, which emphasizes patient-first approaches, enhancing community quality of life, fostering continuous development, delivering high-quality care, and upholding ethical standards.

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will proactively engage in your responsibilities daily; you will be attuned to the physical, mental, psychological, and social needs of your patients. Your expertise in communication skills, assessment, and treatment will be crucial as you collaborate with colleagues to provide quality interdisciplinary patient care. You will conduct thorough evaluations of communication abilities and/or swallowing functions and implement targeted treatment plans to optimize communication and/or swallowing capabilities.

  • Collaborate with fellow staff to assess the quality of services rendered by the Rehabilitation Therapy Department.
  • Engage in peer evaluations for staff performance and assessments.
  • Contribute to the development of the SLP role within programs and services, as well as assist in updating departmental policies and procedures.
  • Help maintain adequate inventory of necessary supplies.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to share professional insights and knowledge. Notify management of educational needs.
Qualifications

Successful candidates will exhibit a deep understanding of patient needs, ensuring that every patient feels informed, understood, and valued. You should be passionate about delivering exceptional quality care and possess the creativity to solve problems effectively in a dynamic setting.

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Graduation from a program that meets the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association's academic and practicum criteria for the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC).
  • A valid license issued by the state of practice.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.
