Job Summary

The Dishwasher plays a vital role in maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors at Cascadia Senior Living. This position is responsible for ensuring the dishwashing area is well-maintained, and all dishes, utensils, and equipment are sanitized and stored properly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in clearing and resetting counters or tables after each course
  • Deliver prompt and courteous service to residents and staff
  • Run the dishwashing machine and set up or break down the dishwashing area as needed
  • Maintain infection control standards and update sanitizer and dish machine temperature logs
  • Clean dishes, kitchen, food preparation equipment, and utensils
  • Sort and rinse dirty dishes, glassware, and other cooking utensils
  • Sort and stack clean dishes and carry them to the cook's line and other storage areas
  • Change dishwater in the dish machine every two hours or before washing glasses or tableware
  • Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand
  • Assist the cook in serving and plating out meals as needed
  • Assist the cook with food preparation as needed
  • Wipe up spills to ensure kitchen floors remain dry
  • Sweep and mop floors and clean and roll/unroll mats
Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of various kitchen equipment and appliances
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Maintain a current Food Handler's card
  • Meet all mandatory health requirements by State regulations
  • Relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other employees
  • Have compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population
  • Pass a Criminal Background and fingerprint check
