Job Summary

We are seeking a committed CDL B driver to join our team at Scholastic Book Fairs. As a driver, you will be responsible for shuttling fairs between branch locations, as well as delivering and picking up books and supplies to schools and other locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver and Pick-up Book Fairs and Product: Deliver and pick up book fairs and product from schools in a courteous, efficient, and professional manner.
  • Customer Service: Work closely with supervisors to ensure customer service standards are maintained.
  • Truck Operations: Load and unload trucks with or without assistance of mechanical devices, and perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of motor vehicles.
  • Record Keeping: Complete and maintain accurate and legible records in a timely manner, including DOT Logs, trip sheets, fuel tickets, road expenses, and other paperwork.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all Company, local, state, and federal rules and regulations, including DOT, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Professional Appearance: Maintain a professional appearance, including well-groomed hair, clean uniform, and hygienic habits.
  • Physical Demands: Regularly carry/transport boxes up and down stairs, and push/pull rolling metal book cases.
Requirements
  • Commercial Driving Experience: Verifiable commercial driving experience of at least one (1) year required.
  • CDL License: Possess a valid CDL license with air brake endorsement.
  • Age and Education: Minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age, and a high school diploma or GED certificate preferred.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to lift/carry up to 70 lbs, and push and handle rolling metal book cases weighing a few hundred lbs.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal/written communication skills, basic math skills, and ability to read.
