Job Summary

The Orthopedic/Trauma Registered Nurse is a vital member of the BryanLGH Medical Center team, responsible for providing exceptional patient care in the Orthopedic/Surgical Unit. This role requires a skilled and compassionate nurse who can assess, plan, and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of adult patients with orthopedic and trauma conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and reassess patients to identify nursing priorities and develop effective care plans
  • Provide and delegate care to patients, including therapeutic interventions and education
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care
  • Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and other support staff in the delivery of patient care
  • Participate in continued learning opportunities and self-development to enhance skills and knowledge
Additional Job Functions
  • Perform duties essential to unit operation, including patient movement and daily scheduling
  • Make daily staff assignments based on competency and patient needs
  • Manage sick calls and alter the daily schedule as needed
  • Assist with staff and scheduling for the next 24-48 hours
  • Participate in clinical decision-making and interpretation of established procedures
Qualifications
  • Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required
