Team Overview
The USDS Security - Risk & Compliance team is tasked with managing security compliance in alignment with U.S. regulatory requirements and objectives, while delivering top-tier governance, risk, and compliance services.
Core Service Offerings:
Compliance & Security Risk Management, Controls & Compliance Framework, Security Compliance Policies, Charters, & Protocols, Vendor Program & Third-Party Risk Management, Governance, Risk, & Compliance (GRC) Platform, and Security & Compliance Behavior & Culture.
To enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, our organization currently adopts a hybrid work model, requiring employees to work in the office three days a week, or as directed by their manager/department.
Position Overview
TikTok is in search of a Security Training and Compliance Specialist to join the USDS Security Risk and Compliance team. This role will significantly influence the advancement of security and compliance culture within USDS.
The Specialist will be instrumental in developing and facilitating training and awareness initiatives, identifying program gaps, and driving maturity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Grasping complex compliance requirements and effectively communicating them to diverse audiences.
- Advocating for security and compliance best practices through engaging training materials to raise awareness of risk and compliance initiatives.
- Assisting in establishing and gathering metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of the Training & Awareness Program, using data to refine materials.
- Collaborating with cross-functional security teams to integrate emerging threats into training programs.
- Partnering with subject matter experts to ensure the accuracy and relevance of security compliance content.
- Creating and maintaining training resources, including presentations, manuals, videos, and online courses.
- Developing communication strategies to promote security compliance awareness initiatives and regularly disseminating security updates and best practices.
- Designing surveys and collecting feedback from participants and stakeholders to enhance training content and delivery methods.
- Working with HR, legal, and other departments to ensure a comprehensive approach to security awareness that aligns with USDS objectives and industry standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of general work experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in facilitating training sessions.
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, writing, or marketing (experience in technology or security is highly preferred).
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms and instructional design principles.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and industry standards, along with familiarity with IT security concepts and tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple IT operational and security disciplines.
- A team player who is a motivated self-starter, resourceful, and possesses a high degree of integrity and trustworthiness.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, within time and budget constraints, to address challenges and meet objectives.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the capability to lead and inspire change.
- Proficiency in tailoring content for various audiences and adapting to different learning styles.
- Experience in executive-level training and awareness initiatives.
