Position Summary
The Facilities Technician is responsible for the upkeep and repair of all production and process equipment. This role is vital to the maintenance team, providing technical assistance on various instruments and equipment while managing all related documentation. The Facilities Technician also ensures a safe working environment, approves maintenance work orders, and develops, reviews, and approves Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for both new and existing equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production, process, and facilities equipment.
- Ensure product quality through effective maintenance and repair of production and process equipment.
- Complete both scheduled and unscheduled work orders and preventative maintenance tasks, maintaining accurate documentation.
- Develop, review, and implement preventative maintenance and repair procedures for necessary equipment.
- Assist in training plant personnel on new or modified equipment and procedures.
- Support validations and revalidations as required.
- Assist in procuring stock and repair parts.
- Collaborate across functions to schedule preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Perform additional tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED is required; a Bachelor's degree in life sciences or engineering is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician.
- A clean driving record and a valid driver’s license are necessary.
- Prior experience in a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and MS Project.
- Ability to read and write in English clearly and operate a computer effectively.
- Capability to identify issues in work processes and respond to safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production or manufacturing environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to maintain a safe and collaborative work environment.
- Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Compensation:
The hourly pay for this position is $35.50. Please note that salaries may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and location.
