Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and participating in nursing activities to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in nursing activities, including the preparation, evaluation, and implementation of nursing care plans to ensure quality patient care.
  • Act as a health liaison and coordinate medical follow-up, including completion of consultations.
  • Provide first aid and emergency nursing care, and monitor and order pharmaceutical supplies for each individual.
  • Attend team reviews and present information, as needed, and meet documentation requirements, including obtaining and transcribing physicians' orders, daily nursing notes, health charts, medication regimen reviews, and case review summaries.
  • Provide medication administration and maintain inventory standards for medication, controlled substances, and medical supplies.
  • Participate in staff training and prepare clinical and administrative reports.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must be a licensed and currently registered nurse in New York State, with a valid New York State license and registration.

You must also be able to maintain a valid New York State license and registration.

Background investigation requirements include a Criminal Background Check (CBC), which includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks.

Each case will be determined on its own merits, consistent with the applicable provisions of State and federal laws, rules, and regulations.

Prospective employees will be fingerprinted in order to obtain a record of their criminal history information, and may be required to pay any necessary fees.

Additionally, prospective employees will be screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR), and may be required to pay any necessary fees.

For Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY) prospective appointees, a check against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs will be conducted.

Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment and may have their names removed from the eligible list(s) for the title(s) if applicable.
