Job Title: Afterschool Care Assistant

Bellevue Montessori School Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Afterschool Care Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing a nurturing environment for children aged 18 months to 12 years.

Job Summary

We are looking for a committed individual who can work 2PM to 6PM Mondays through Fridays. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting teachers in creating a comprehensive development plan for each student, facilitating social skills and knowledge, and providing a safe and engaging environment for children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and rotating of activities, books, and art supplies
  • Assisting with drop-offs and pickups
  • Knowing and following health and safety procedures
  • Preparing and providing snacks for children
  • Engaging in conversations with children to increase their opportunities for language development
  • Using positive discipline techniques to help students gain self-discipline and conflict resolution skills
  • Loading dishwasher, laundry, and ensuring closing duties are met
  • Following BMS policies and procedures, including keeping up to date with DCYF requirements and continuing education
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalency or at least 18 years of age
  • Comparable work experience with children, such as nannying or babysitting
  • Experience working with Google Drive and other platforms
  • Able to lift up to 25lbs
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Passionate about working with children
  • Patient, calm, kind, and understanding
  • Team player with strong communication skills
  • Proactive and takes initiative
  • Strong attendance, punctuality, and flexibility
  • Able to work in the US
  • Complete the DCYF requirements, including Portable Background Check, CPR/First Aid, proof of TB/Measles, Covid-19 vaccinations, Food Handler's permit, Borne Blood Pathogens, and complete the initial 30 hour basic child course
What We Offer

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $20.50, with a $200 sign-on bonus after 90 days. We also provide opportunities for professional growth and development, as well as a supportive and collaborative work environment.
