The Utilities Employees Credit Union is seeking a dedicated professional to enhance our value to members while safeguarding the organization from potential risks. This role is integral to our enterprise risk management and vendor oversight initiatives. The successful candidate will collaborate with leadership to identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks, ensuring a standardized risk evaluation process is maintained throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the enterprise risk management framework and associated software, ensuring compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Facilitate the identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting of risks across various departments.
- Educate and inform management and staff on risk management principles, including assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Maintain the Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process, assisting in the development of risk assessments for diverse products and services.
- Ensure a uniform approach to risk evaluation is applied organization-wide.
- Identify and address control deficiencies that may elevate risk levels, providing actionable recommendations.
- Research and analyze emerging risks, benchmarking the organization's risk appetite against industry peers.
- Develop metrics to track identified risk exposures, ensuring they remain within acceptable limits.
- Assist in evaluating risks associated with new initiatives, collaborating with all departments to implement effective controls.
- Manage multiple risk management processes, including monitoring and updates.
- Generate and review risk management reports using the organization’s risk management software.
- Act as a liaison with the corporate insurance broker to conduct annual insurance reviews and ensure adequate coverage.
- Oversee the vendor management program, ensuring timely collection of necessary documentation and conducting due diligence assessments.
- Provide ongoing training and education on enterprise and vendor risk management practices.
- Support regulatory examinations and monitor corrective actions for any identified deficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering laws.
- Perform supportive tasks that may be adjusted based on individual circumstances.
Qualifications:
- An Associate's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a financial institution, focusing on risk management, compliance, or related fields.
Work Environment:
This position operates within a professional office setting, utilizing standard office equipment. The role requires the ability to remain stationary for extended periods and engage in regular communication with colleagues and members.
