Overview:


The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a pivotal clinical position dedicated to delivering outstanding medical services to patients. This includes performing comprehensive physical assessments, ordering and interpreting diagnostic evaluations, and formulating patient care strategies under the guidance of a supervising physician.

This role is classified as safety-sensitive due to its direct involvement in patient care and medication administration.

The NP will report to the Regional Manager (or equivalent) and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.


Key Responsibilities:
Practice medicine under the supervision of a physician, utilizing sound clinical judgment while adhering to ethical standards of medical practice; recognize personal limitations and seek consultation when necessary; stay informed about current medical technologies and industry standards.

Provide care for patients with both acute and chronic conditions, particularly in the older adult demographic, under the supervision of a physician.

Assume accountability for patient care and outcomes, appropriately consulting specialists when required, while remaining actively involved in the comprehensive management of the patient.

Engage with hospitalists for patients admitted to the hospital.

Fulfill all clinical obligations of the medical practice, including compliance with accrediting agencies, CLIA, drug prescription regulations, HIPAA, and state and federal laws.

Assess, diagnose, treat, manage, educate, and coordinate care for patients with complex health needs, employing evidence-based practices and clinical guidelines.

Adhere to all internal policies and procedures.

Ensure the completion of operational tasks in line with departmental standards to facilitate proper clinical documentation.

Maintain thorough and accurate electronic health records (EHR) of patient care plans and prognoses, completed within 48 hours of each patient visit.

Provide patients with essential information to promote health, mitigate risk factors, and manage or prevent disease and disability.

Analyze and interpret patient histories, symptoms, physical findings, and diagnostic information to establish appropriate diagnoses.


Collaborate with the supervising physician to interpret diagnostic data and determine suitable courses of action, including but not limited to blood gases, radiology, and EKG results.


Position Requirements/Skills:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program.

Current certification as a nurse practitioner with valid state licensure.

A minimum of one year of professional nursing experience, with 1-3 years as a practicing primary care nurse practitioner.

Experience with electronic medical records systems is essential.

Deliver exemplary service in alignment with the Better Health Group's mission.

Proficient in traditional nursing practices, including patient assessment and management.

ACLS/BLS certification is required as mandated by state regulations.

Demonstrate a solid understanding of appropriate patient care rationale.

Exhibit the ability to manage emergency situations with composure and effectiveness.

Capable of reading, analyzing, and interpreting business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Effectively present information and respond to inquiries from diverse groups.

Ability to identify problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, teaching abilities, and strong telephone etiquette.

Proficient in Google Suite (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for collaborative work.

Physical Requirements:
Full range of motion, including the ability to handle and transfer patients, manual dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.

Requires standing, walking, pushing, bending, kneeling, and reaching overhead for extended periods in a clinical setting.

Must be capable of lifting and moving patients and medical equipment as necessary.

Ability to lift/carry up to 15 lbs.

Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.

Ability to sit for prolonged periods.

Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
