Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Position Overview:
This role involves working the Overnight Shift on a Part-Time basis, with eligibility for a $1500 Sign-On Bonus, 12 hours of Bonus PTO, and a $3.50 night shift differential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate patient health issues and needs, developing, implementing, and assessing care plans accordingly.
- Deliver nursing care and provide guidance to patients, families, and significant others regarding health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives relevant to the role.
- Act as a patient advocate, connecting them with appropriate community resources.
Professional Development:
- Collaborate with peers and other healthcare professionals to enhance nursing practices.
Charge Nurse Duties:
- Manage patient flow in inpatient and/or outpatient settings.
- Allocate resources for patient care and organize staffing to ensure safety.
- Provide direction to staff and address any issues that arise during the shift.
- Serve as a liaison among staff, patients, and physicians, demonstrating unit-specific Charge Nurse competencies.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a medical/surgical unit or 1 year in an Emergency Department or Critical Care Unit, or 2 years as a Paramedic.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing and 3 years of RN experience in Acute Care, Critical Care, or Emergency settings.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current professional nursing license in Minnesota or a permit from the Minnesota Board of Nursing if licensed in another state.
- BLS Certification.
- ACLS certification within 6 months of hire.
- Successful completion of TNCC within one year of hire.
- Successful completion of ENPC within two years of hire.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Competence in managing multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Effective communication skills in English for both written and verbal interactions.
