Comprehensive Counseling Specialist

Parents and Children Together is seeking a highly skilled Comprehensive Counseling Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a vital role in providing integrated services to promote the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and families on Oahu.
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related human services field, and have a minimum of one year of experience working with parents/caretakers who harmed their children or threatened their children with harm and children who experienced harm or were threatened with harm and experienced trauma and loss.
The Comprehensive Counseling Specialist will provide service activities such as service assessment, Individual Program Plan (IPP) development, parental life skills support, child skill building activities, developing/enhancing protective factors, and referrals to and service coordination with other community agencies resources, and supports.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering voluntary, culturally appropriate, and strengths-based child abuse and neglect prevention services to families that are low to high-risk. They will also provide individual, conjoint, and family clinical counseling/therapy to include communication skill building, problem solving skill building, building of coping skills and education on child development.
The Comprehensive Counseling Specialist will be the lead service coordinator for each case assigned and will work under the direct supervision of the Clinical Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in clinical supervision with the Clinical Supervisor/Therapist and/or Program Supervisor to ensure updated case plan service activities and IPP goals are being met.
- Complete clear, concise, and non-judgmental written and electronic documentation, such as initial assessments, monthly updates, and closing reports.
- Develop and implement Individual Program Plans with DHS and the family, conduct screens and assessments, and provide individual, conjoint, or family counseling.
- Ensure service activities support short and long-term goals and are designed to promote protective factors.
- Provide crisis intervention and be on-call 24 hours a day/7 day a week to support clients.
- Maintain effective working relationships with funders, collaborators, state agencies, and other providers.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in social work, psychology, or a related human services field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with parents/caretakers who harmed their children or threatened their children with harm and children who experienced harm or were threatened with harm and experienced trauma and loss.
- Valid Driver's License and daily access to an automobile.
- Proof of no-fault insurance.
