Your Role: A Pivotal Force in Network Optimization

As a Staff RAN Network Performance Engineer at DISH, you will be instrumental in interpreting network performance metrics, correlating them with customer experiences, and driving enhancements to DISH's 5G service performance and customer satisfaction.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing real-time KPI dashboards and conducting root cause analysis to identify areas for improvement in network performance and end-user experience.
  • Providing end-to-end troubleshooting for 5G networks, focusing on cloud-based ORAN interfaces and E2E signaling protocols, utilizing vendor-specific logs and probing systems.
  • Collaborating with RF, RAN, and Core engineering teams to propose tuning actions and architectural changes that boost RAN performance and customer experience.
  • Leading benchmarking efforts to compare DISH Wireless network performance against industry benchmarks, developing recommendations to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Utilizing Big Data Analytics with Python, R, and Tableau to leverage AI/ML for operational modeling, anomaly detection, task automation, and zero-touch network performance management.
  • Serving as the point of contact for KPI requirements for new technologies, collaborating with Engineering, Operations, and functional teams.

To succeed as a Staff RAN Performance Engineer, you will have:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, coupled with 8+ years of experience in mobile networks and a deep understanding of 5G/4G technologies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A profound understanding of 5G ORAN standards, virtualization technologies, containerization, cloud-native principles, and SDN for cloud-based 5G Open RAN deployment.
  • Proficiency in cloud-based orchestration, edge computing, VNFs, CNFs, and open-source cloud-native technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of RAN network performance management, optimization, and E2E call flows for voice and data calls.
  • Expertise in data and VoIP network architecture, infrastructure, traffic engineering, and NMS/EMS/OSS/BSS operations.
  • Strong programming and data analytics skills, with awareness of latest telecom standards (TMF, ETSI, 3GPP) and transport network performance monitoring.

The base pay range for this role is $110,100 - $170,900 per year, depending on qualifications, skill level, and competencies.
