Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (3x12 hours per week plus an additional required shift per month; every other weekend)

Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Pediatric Step Down Nurse. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care to children and adolescents in a fast-paced hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver patient care by incorporating the professional practice model of Relationship Centered Care.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs, applying critical thinking in patient care management.
- Integrate relevant assessment and intervention skills in delivery of nursing care.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.
- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, and planning after hospital care.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and the healthcare team.
- Manage assignments within a Modified Primary Nursing care delivery model.
- Demonstrate caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening in interaction with patients and families.
- Implement safe and efficient patient-centered care practices.
- Engage in quality and safety practices, participating in improvement strategies.
- Use evidence-based practices to increase understanding of patients' perceptions of care.
- Conduct Purposeful Hourly Rounding on assigned patients.
- Utilize institutional information technology to document nursing practices and support quality improvement initiatives.
