Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct care to a student with minimal medical needs, including G-tube care and seizure monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:
  • 1:1 Medical Support: Provide direct care to a student with a G-tube, including cleaning and maintenance twice a day. Monitor the student for seizure activity and provide appropriate intervention as needed.
  • Classroom Assistance: Assist the teacher with classroom activities and support the student's integration into the classroom environment when not providing medical care.
  • Monitoring and Documentation: Keep accurate records of the student's medical needs, including G-tube maintenance and any seizure activity.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with school staff to ensure a coordinated approach to the student's care and educational experience.
Requirements:
  • Licenses/Certifications: Active RN license in Illinois AND Illinois Para Certification (district requirement).
  • Experience: Experience in a school setting and/or 1:1 assignments preferred. Experience and comfort with G-tubes and managing seizure activity are required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in G-tube care and seizure monitoring. Ability to assist with classroom activities and communicate effectively with students and staff.
  • Comfort Level: Comfortable working with students who have medical needs and supporting classroom functions.
