ROLE OF THE ASSISTANT MANAGER
The Assistant Manager reports directly to the General Manager and plays a crucial role in supporting daily operations, safeguarding assets, and managing human resources within a retail environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ASSISTANT MANAGER
We seek a motivated and dynamic individual who is highly organized and detail-oriented to assist in the management of retail operations. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, enjoys engaging with customers and team members, and excels in a sales-driven environment. They will represent a professional image for store visitors and lead the team effectively.
PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:
1. Inspire and lead a team to enhance morale, sales, and operational efficiency.
2. Conduct training sessions for staff by reviewing product knowledge and sales techniques.
3. Facilitate weekly training programs and assess staff performance and learning needs with the retail store manager.4. Promote sales through product demonstrations and customer engagement.
5. Address customer complaints and service suggestions promptly.6. Ensure a safe and organized store environment.7. Monitor inventory levels by checking merchandise availability.8. Uphold quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.9. Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuous education and professional publications.10. Manage staffing issues, including interviewing candidates, conducting performance reviews, and organizing training and development.
11. Regularly tour the sales floor, interact with colleagues and customers, and address urgent matters as they arise.12. Assist customers by providing information, answering inquiries, obtaining requested merchandise, and processing transactions.QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ASSISTANT MANAGER
1. Must be at least eighteen years of age.
2. Strong communication skills to interact clearly and professionally with customers and colleagues.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
4. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
5. General knowledge of apparel products is preferred.
6. Excellent leadership, training, and team-building capabilities.
7. Flexibility to work a varied schedule based on departmental and store needs, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
8. Strong customer service orientation.
9. Ability to analyze and apply sales metrics.
10. Competent computer skills and willingness to learn new applications.
11. Physical ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs, handle merchandise, and perform various physical tasks.
12. Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and initiative.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
2. A college degree plus at least one year of retail management experience or two to four years of retail management experience is preferred.
