Job Title: Flight Paramedic

Job Summary:

As a Flight Paramedic with Ballad Health, you will provide high-quality pre-hospital care to patients requiring air medical transportation. This role involves assessing patients, implementing treatment plans, and documenting patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat patients with life-threatening illnesses and injuries in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Communicate effectively with flight crew members, dispatchers, and hospital staff to ensure safe and efficient patient transport.
  • Complete thorough and timely patient care reports, collaborating with other medical professionals as needed.
  • Prioritize personal and crew safety, identifying and mitigating risks in the medical, rescue, and aviation environments.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, utilizing quality techniques to maintain positive relationships with pre-hospital and hospital communities.

Requirements:

  • Paramedic certification or licensure in Virginia, Tennessee, and National Registry.
  • PHTLS or equivalent trauma course completion and maintenance.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of paramedic experience, with at least 3 years (4000 hours) in an ALS setting.
  • Class II FAA physical examination on hire and annually.
  • Weight of 215 or less.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required and maintained.
  • NRP certification within 6 months of hire and maintained.
  • FP-C certification within 24 months of hire (Ballad Health).

Work Requirements:

  • Rotating shifts.
  • No on-call requirements.
  • Rotating weekends.
  • No travel required.
  • Ballad Health Corporate location.
