Job Title: Assistant Store Manager - Campus Store

Barnes & Noble College is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Assistant Store Manager in our campus store. As a key member of our management team, you will play a vital role in driving sales growth, improving customer satisfaction, and leading a team of retail professionals.

Responsibilities:
  • Support the Store Manager in the daily operation of the campus store, including supervising employees, managing inventory, and maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales growth, improve customer satisfaction, and increase employee engagement.
  • Lead a team of retail professionals, providing coaching, training, and development opportunities to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  • Manage the store's visual merchandising, including creating visually appealing displays and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
  • Process sales transactions, handle customer complaints, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in a retail setting, with a minimum of 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, employees, and management.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Familiarity with financial and customer service principles, with basic reading, writing, and accounting skills required.
