We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients with testing, screening, and procedures, including pre- and post-surgical care.
- Work alongside providers to ensure efficient and effective delivery of care.
- Triaging patients, preparing exam rooms, and assisting providers before, during, and after medical procedures.
- Provide non-judgmental and empathetic care to patients.
- Perform injections and blood draws, as well as record basic lab work and process specimens for external lab tests.
- Obtain vital signs, clean and sterilize equipment, and stock exam rooms.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and referring patients for follow-up medical services.
- Support the clinical staff in providing contraceptives, primary care services, and abortion services.
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant school/program or Medical Assistant Certification by a certifying organization approved by the Medical Board of California.
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a clinical setting, preferably with experience performing blood draws and injections.
- Reproductive, managed/primary health care, and/or abortion services experience desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
- Ability to work flexible hours and locations within PPOSBC as required.
