Position Overview:

ICM Ventures Inc is seeking motivated interns for the role of Construction Field Engineer. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at a construction project site.

ROLE OBJECTIVE:

The primary function of the Field Engineer Intern is to assist in the management and execution of construction activities, ensuring that project objectives related to timelines and financial constraints are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

Administrative Duties:

  • Monitor labor hour documentation
  • Maintain procurement records
  • Assess project advancement by evaluating completion metrics for various trades
  • Support in the requisition and ordering of materials
  • Engage in project discussions to grasp priorities
  • Participate in vendor negotiations to understand pricing strategies
  • Assist project leadership in updating schedules
  • Help with the organization and staging of equipment on-site
  • Distribute materials and equipment to subcontractors while updating logs
  • Study the process of Ethanol production and project-specific methodologies
  • Assist in monitoring Change Orders and financial implications of project modifications

Collaboration with Site Management:

Support the Site Superintendent and Field Engineers in supervising subcontractors, managing logistics, and ensuring adherence to project specifications.

Installation Verification:

  • Examine the installation of piping and instrumentation
  • Ensure compliance with concrete and soil compaction testing
  • Assist in the setup of distillation equipment
  • Verify concrete layouts against engineering specifications
  • Confirm proper installation of structural components
  • Ensure that equipment setups align with project designs

Safety Compliance:

  • Conduct regular safety inspections to identify and rectify violations
  • Perform daily evaluations to ensure adherence to safety regulations

Additional Duties:

  • Cost estimation
  • Logistical planning
  • Understanding contractual agreements and project scope
  • Engagement with clients and stakeholders
  • Interaction with subcontractors
  • Efficient management of daily responsibilities
  • Assistance with warehouse operations

Qualifications:

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a degree program related to Construction Management, Construction Science, or a comparable technical discipline.
