Overview of the Role:
MedStar Health is seeking a dedicated Rehabilitation Therapist to become a vital member of our team. In this role, you will engage in the assessment and treatment of patients, utilizing contemporary methodologies and practices in occupational therapy. Your responsibilities will align with all relevant regulations and the guiding principles of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive evaluations and re-evaluations of patients, assessing their previous and current functional levels, establishing suitable objectives, and providing discharge recommendations in line with best practices.
2. Deliver direct therapeutic interventions according to established standards, which include educating patients and their families, advancing treatment plans, and executing effective therapeutic strategies.
3. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with departmental standards and collaborate with physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare professionals regarding treatment plans and patient progress.
4. Actively engage in departmental meetings, training sessions, and discussions related to patient care and operational matters.
5. Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and rehabilitation support staff, ensuring effective coordination of your schedule to meet patient care demands and departmental needs.
6. Contribute to program development initiatives as directed by the Occupational Therapy Clinical Leader.

Additionally, you will participate in a minimum of 10 hours of continuing education annually to enhance your professional skills and provide at least one educational session for staff or the community each year.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an AOTA accredited program and successful completion of the NBCOT certification exam.
- Valid Occupational Therapist licensure in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Current CPR certification within the specified timeframe.
- Candidates may be considered for varying levels of clinical roles based on their experience and qualifications.
