Job Summary

As a CDL Bus Driver for the Haverhill School District, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school. This position requires a valid CDL license with a passenger endorsement and a strong commitment to providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obeys traffic laws and observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
  • Maintains discipline when students are on the bus and reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
  • Keeps the assigned bus clean and adheres to the assigned schedule.
  • Checks the bus before each operation for mechanical defects and notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
  • Discharges students only at authorized stops and exercises responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
  • Transports only authorized students and reports all accidents and completes required reports.
  • Enforces regulations against smoking and eating on the bus and performs all duties as indicated by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designees and the policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
Qualifications
  • Valid CDL License/DPU with passenger endorsement for bus required.
  • Demonstrate qualities of neatness/cleanliness and adaptability to change.
  • Demonstrate ability to function in a school environment and possess excellent customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Some dispatching may be required, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential.
