Process Engineer Job Description

At Aprilaire, we're committed to delivering healthy air solutions to our customers. As a Process Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in driving process improvement projects and supporting future initiatives in our Madison, Wisconsin manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and lead continuous improvement projects across multiple facilities to enhance process, cost, production, and quality.
  • Improve production flow by leveraging labor incentives and optimizing production processes.
  • Communicate with union members to explain incentive systems and changes.
  • Recommend and lead new projects, improvements, and product design changes using lean manufacturing and engineering principles.
  • Engage with New Product Introduction teams, Engineering Change Requests, and other relevant processes impacting manufacturing.
  • Develop and update FMEA's & PFMEA's.
  • Design and execute qualification plans for new/modified equipment or materials.
  • Participate in long-range planning, including plant layout and equipment needs.
  • Investigate, justify, and implement special packaging projects, including tooling and equipment setup.
  • Prepare documentation and provide metrics, flow charts, and diagrams as needed.
  • Maintain manufacturing information in our MRP system.
  • Lead plant Productivity projects to improve cost structure through process and product improvements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Process or Industrial Engineering and manufacturing experience in an assembly environment.
  • Understanding of Process or Industrial Engineering concepts and principles focused on process efficiencies, quality control, and cost analysis.
  • 3+ years' experience in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Curious personality with an ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Initiative to work independently and collaborate across teams.
  • Values building relationships with others while acting as the subject matter specialist in your role.
  • Experience with AutoCAD a plus.
