Counter Sales Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Counter Sales Representative to join our team at Mid-Cape Home Centers. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their building material needs, and ensuring a seamless sales experience.

• Customer Service: Greet and interact with customers in a positive and professional manner, providing assistance with questions and concerns regarding merchandise, pricing, and promotions.
• Sales Processing: Process customer sales through the use of a cash register, receiving payment by various methods and processing according to company standard procedures.
• Product Selection: Facilitate product selection for scheduled and walk-in showroom customers, using proper forms to ensure consistent records of selections.
• Inventory Management: Maintain stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom, ensuring that products are readily available for customers.
• Administrative Tasks: Create accurate and complete invoices, work orders, and sales tickets, and code and input customer orders, pricing information, and additional data into the computer system.

• Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Experience: Minimal experience required, with building material knowledge and sales experience a plus.
• Skills: Commitment to providing excellent customer service, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of building materials, applications, and related equipment, as well as construction industry principles.

This position requires the ability to stand for long periods, walk, and use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, carry, or reach. Occasionally, you may be required to sit, climb, or balance, or stoop, kneel, or crawl. Regularly lifting up to 25 lbs., frequently lifting up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lifting up to 100 lbs.
