WestCare Foundation is seeking a skilled Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our prevention services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective design, delivery, and assessment of prevention services for children, teens, adults, and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Prevention Services Coordinator in all aspects of prevention services.
  • Co-facilitate psycho-educational support groups for individuals and families.
  • Advocate for prevention, treatment, and recovery services.
  • Help plan traditional and teen camp schedules.
  • Co-teach the Too Good for Drugs/Violence curriculum in school and community settings.
  • Provide leadership to staff and mentors during Camp Mariposa weekends.
  • Assist with training mentors for Camp Mariposa.
  • Co-facilitate the Creating Lasting Family Connections program.
  • Support assessment of prevention services.
  • Assist other WestCare staff as needed.

Requirements:

  • First Aid/CPR Certification required within 6 months of employment start.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain WestCare vehicle insurance.
  • Associates degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or related field preferred.
  • Evidence of training in case management and prevention education required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is primarily performed in an office or indoor setting.
  • Work is performed in various settings, including schools, community sites, and outdoor camp facilities.
  • Some home visits may be required.
  • Regular and prompt attendance is required.
