We are seeking a skilled and compassionate PRN Oncology Registered Nurse RN to join our team at Swedish Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional care to patients with cancer, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive treatment plans.
Responsibilities- Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers, ensuring thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patient's medical record.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor patients for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
- Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate nursing licensure.
- Current BLS Certification through AHA or ARC, Certification in Oncology Nursing preferred.
- Graduate of a certified School of Nursing. BSN preferred.
- Previous chemotherapy experience preferred.
